A letter was sent to eighth grade parents asking them to remind their student to exhibit SMART behaviors for the remaining weeks of their time at TMS as well as sharing upcoming activities. We are looking forward to our remaining time together with the eighth graders and all of the fun-filled end-of-the-year activities that will complete the Thurston memories.

Laguna Beach Family Night is coming Saturday, June 3 at Angels Statium vs. Minnesota Twins! Tickets are $20 each and $5 of every ticket goes to PTA. Raffle tickets are also available for some amazing hands-on prizes for game night. Come out and enjoy some baseball with our Laguna family while supporting PTA.

On March 14, the Laguna Beach Unified School District Board of Education approved the implementation of a new visitor registration system. The computerized visitor registration system will screen visitors to district schools to ensure efficient tracking and consistency of security procedures.

On March 15, the California Department of Education will unveil its new California School Dashboard, a new accountability and improvement system to show how California's public schools are performing and track their progress over time.

Thurston Wheel Days are coming again on Thursday, March 23 and Friday, March 24. Students can use their rollerskates, razors and skateboards during P.E., no bikes. March 23 and 24 are also minimum days. Students will be released at 1 p.m.

EPIC Challenge is coming! This is TMS's biggest fundraiser which will start with an assembly on Tues., Jan. 31st. We are looking for business and family sponsors. Every student receives a t-shirt with your logo on it! Your logo will also appear on banners, press releases, websites & more! We also need volunteers & raffle prizes.
