Have YOU been meaning to help with PTA this year?    
Thurston PTA needs food items donated to sell at the bake sale this Friday night: Anything Goes!  Drop off your kid(s) AND your bake sale items at Thurston THIS FRIDAY MORNING. Store-bought or home-made baked goods, granola bars, cases of water, or a jar of licorice – we need it all!  You can also drop the item off at the High School Artists’ Theatre around 6:30 p.m. Friday night.  It’s easy to help!   Contact: Kathleen Fay at kathleenfay@cox.net <mailto:kathleenfay@cox.net> – Thanks!
 
Ø      Wednesday, March 17th – Coffee Break at the Surf and Sand Hotel 8:15 – 10:15.  Title – “What Parents Should Know about Alcohol, Drugs and the Party Scene in Laguna Beach.  Speaker – Dr. Edward Kaufman – renowned psychiatrist and substance abuse expert.  I will be a member of the panel along with Dr. Austin from the High School and Irene White, Director of Special Education.  Click here for more information.
Ø      Wednesday, March 17th – The High School Counselors will be meeting with our 8th grade students throughout the day to present important information regarding registration.
 
Ø      Thursday and Friday, March 18th and 19th – Minimum Days Dismissal at 1:00
 
Ø      Magazine and Cookie Dough Sale – Tomorrow is the last day to turn in last minute orders!
 
Ø      Angels Baseball – April 2nd. It is not too late to order tickets!! Click here to access the order form.
 
Ø      Book Swap – Save those unwanted and used books! We are having a Book Swap! There will more information in the update next week!
 
Ø       Box Tops for Education – Please save your Box Tops. We have a collection box in the office.            
 
Ø      Scoliosis Screening for 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys.  March 18th and March 19th during your child’s P.E. classes.  If you have any questions please contact Elizabeth in our Health Office, 497-7785.
