Landscape Maintenance

The Facilities Department oversees and manages the maintenance of landscape and irrigation at District properties. The District contracts with a qualified and experienced landscape maintenance contractor to maintain approximately 45 acres of turf, planter beds, slopes, trees, shrubs, and athletic fields. The Facilities Department uses a comprehensive landscape maintenance plan to identify the scope and schedule for the contracted landscape maintenance services. Services are scheduled with site administrators to minimize hazards and impacts to school site operations.

All landscape maintenance services within the District are performed following an “organic” Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program. The maintenance is performed by the use of organic procedures to control weeds, insects, and diseases. The prescribed procedures alleviate the weeds, insects, and diseases with the least possible hazard to people, property, and the environment by using methods that are safe, effective, and economically feasible.
