Elementary/

Middle

(PK - 7th Grades)

LEAD Summer Academy K-7 and Extended School Year PK-7: School instruction will be delivered via in-person learning with select virtual options. This is an intervention program based on teacher referral or IEP team referral.

Course Offerings:

  • The Laguna Beach Unified School District is providing summer school interventions for students currently in grades K-8 who are referred by their teacher for additional skill practice over the summer to best prepare them for success next school year.

Only students who are referred from their teacher due to specific skill development needs are invited to summer school.

Extended School Year (ESY) in grades PK-8 is offered for students who require an extension of the regular school year as part of their individualized education program based on IEP team recommendation.

Additional Support:

  • The District is working to make additional teacher staff available for parent/guardian consultation during the summer school session (July 12-August 6) to provide parents/guardians with educational enrichment support and skill practice guidance to best prepare students for next year.

High School

(8th - 12th grades)

LEAD LBHS Summer School instruction will be delivered via in person instruction with select virtual options. 

Session 1: June 21 – July 2 (10 days)
Session 2: July 12 – July 23 (10 days)
No School: July 5-July 9, 2021

Hours: 8:30am-12:45pm

Course Offerings:

  • Students in grades 9-12 who need to repeat a course to earn credit toward earning a high school diploma or who want to remediate a course due to a “D” or “F” grade to meet minimum UC "a-g" requirements. Courses offered are for remediation or credit recovery only and are not offered for advanced credit. 

  • Additional English Language Development Academy 8th-12th grade courses are offered for select students.

  • Extended School Year (ESY) in grades 9-12 is offered for students who require an extension of the regular school year as part of their individualized education program based on IEP team recommendation

  • Students may only take one course at a time each session for a total of two maximum courses.

  • Please contact your school counselor for specific course recommendations for summer school.

LEAD Enrichment & Readiness

(Kindergarten - 12th grades)

LEAD Enrichment & Readiness K-12 Program provides enrichment or readiness programs to students K-12. Program goals include preparing students for successful entry into the regular school year, offering additional essential practice in various skill areas, and learning new and engaging content.

Program booklets with all course offerings will be sent to parents on May 10, 2021.
