Sparta Science Night

Date: Monday - October 14, 2019
Time: 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Location: LBHS
LBUSD Families,

On behalf of Breaker Athletics, I'd like to invite you to a night with Sparta Science on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 7 p.m. inside the LBHS Dugger Gym.

This year, all LBUSD campuses will begin use of Sparta Science force plate technology to help increase students' athletic performance and minimize injury risk during physical activity. Force plates are measuring instruments that measure the ground reaction forces generated by a body standing on or moving across them, to quantify balance, gait, and other parameters of biomechanics.

On Monday, October 14 we will be introducing the new system to families with live demonstrations and a short information session from our certified athletic trainer and members of the Sparta Science team.

All district families are invited, including our elementary and middle school families. We will be using the force plate to measure students in K-8 during physical education classes. The data gathered will help us tailor our physical activity in class to better serve our students.

The opportunity to use Sparta Science technology on our campuses has been made possible through SchoolPower funding and we are looking to maximize its benefits for all of our students. Please join us with your student(s). We look forward to sharing more about this cutting-edge performance technology with you.

Thank you,

Lance Neal
