State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond announced today the statewide results of the CAASPP tests for English language arts/literacy (ELA) and math. The latest data from the CDE shows that LBUSD continues to be one of the highest performing districts in CA in English language arts (ELA) and math.

LBHS Theatre invites audiences to a performance of Thornton Wilder's Our Town at the Laguna Beach High School Artists Theatre beginning Friday, October 25 at 7 p.m. Narrated by special guest artist Mark Dressler in the role of the Stage Manager, audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families from 1901 to 1913.

After the announced departure of assistant principal Robert Billinger, Laguna Beach High School searched high and low for a new replacement. Now, the school would like to give a warm welcome to the new assistant principal, Mr. Dale Miller. For the past two years, he was an assistant principal at Anaheim High School.

The U.S. Department of Education announced today that El Morro Elementary School is among the 362 schools recognized as 2019 U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon Schools award honorees. Every year, the U.S. Department of Ed seeks out and celebrates great schools demonstrating that all students can achieve high levels.

Laguna Beach High School students Kenneth Chu and Kyle Herkins have been named Semifinalists in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program. These talented seniors will have an opportunity to continue in the competition for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million next spring.
