Any student in grades 1-3 who reads for 500 minutes or more and any student in grades 4 and 5 who reads for 600 minutes or more will be rewarded with a "Popsicle with the Principal" and a certificate next September.

Teacher assignments for next year will be available online to all families who have confirmed their residency in Laguna Beach on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 3:30 pm. We do not take teacher requests.

Laguna Beach High School is seeking mentors to participate in Authentic Exploratory Research (AER), a student self-directed project-based learning program set to launch in the fall. Focused on real-world application, AER asks students to identify a field of interest and pairs each student with a volunteer mentor in that field.

On Wednesday, May 1, "LBUSD Presents: Dr. Denise Pope" at the Laguna Beach High School Artists Theatre to discuss strategies for reducing academic stress. Dr. Pope is a Senior Lecturer at Stanford University and co-author of "Overloaded and Underprepared: Strategies for Stronger Schools and Healthy, Successful Kids".

New student enrollment opens on April 16, 2019. Your child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2019, to enroll for the 2019-2020 school year as a kindergarten student. The first day of school for all grades is August 26, 2019.

The Read to Achieve Challenge is underway! Students in grades 1st and 2nd are challenged to read for at least 15 minutes a day, outside of school, during the school week.

Laguna Beach High School Drama invites audiences to a performance of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet at the Laguna Beach High School Artists Theatre beginning Friday, November 2 at 7 p.m. The production will feature the work of guest director Michael Irish, a 1999 alumnus of LBHS and the Park Avenue Players.

The results of the CAASPP tests, which were completed by students in grades 3-8 and 11 last spring, have been released by the California Department of Education. The latest data shows that the LBUSD continues to be one of the highest performing districts in California in English language arts and mathematics.
