The Laguna Beach Unified School District is committed to assisting students with learning opportunities that utilize 21st century tools and help prepare them for college and careers in today's global economy.

Technology is a significant educational enhancement that plays an integral part in today's society and workplace. Students must have the ability to use a variety of technological devices as a necessary skill. Earlier this school year, LBUSD initiated a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) pilot program for Laguna Beach High School and Thurston Middle School students. In January, the BYOD pilot program began at both elementary schools for fifth grade students. This program augments Project-Based-Learning opportunities across the curriculum and the Common Core State Standards in Technology encompassing collaboration, research, and presentation skills.

Parents have three BYOD options for their students:

    1. Bring a device to and from home
    2. Lease a District Chromebook
    3. Check out a classroom Chromebook daily
