Eight LBHS student-athletes participated in National Signing Day on Wednesday afternoon, officially committing to an NCAA Division I or Division II school that has offered them a scholarship to play for a sports team.
LBHS theatre students return to the Artists’ Theatre on October 27 with “Holes” a part adventure, part western that tells the story of the unlucky Stanley Yelnats and his family curse.
LBUSD celebrated the grand opening of its Family Resource Center on October 18, welcoming parents and staff members to an open house event that focused on showcasing the wide range of school-based mental health and family services available throughout the district.
The College Board announced that LBHS has been named to the Advanced Placement® Program School Honor Roll, earning a Gold distinction. LBHS also earned an AP Access Award for providing all students with the opportunity to participate in AP, including students of underrepresented populations.
This week, the CDE released test scores that report the percentage of students meeting state math, English language arts, and science standards statewide as measured by the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress. Scores in both ELA and mathematics surpassed the Orange County average by approximately 22 percent and exceeded the California state-wide average by approximately 32 percent in ELA and 34 percent in mathematics.

Years in the making, LBHS on September 26 celebrated the grand opening of a well space on campus for students. The new well space at LBHS is connected to the student support specialist’s office, ensuring students have ready access to a school-based mental health provider who can support them in utilizing healthy coping strategies.
