SUMMER 2026 PROGRAM DATES

Laguna Beach Unified School District offers a variety of summer programs designed to support learning, enrichment, and student engagement across grade levels. Families can review dates and details for the following programs:

Program Dates Description
Summer Academy (Grades 1-8) June 22 - July 17

This is an intervention program focused on learning recovery and acceleration based on teacher recommendation or IEP team referral. All classes will be held at Top of the World Elementary School.

Summer Academy (Grades 9-12)

Session 1:
June 22 - July 7

Session 2:
July 8 - 22

This program is designed for students in grades 9–12 who need to repeat or remediate a course to earn credit toward a high school diploma or meet minimum UC “a-g” requirements. Courses are offered for remediation or credit recovery only, with additional English Language Development courses, Jumpstart Algebra enrichment and Extended School Year (ESY) available to select students based on eligibility and IEP team recommendations. Students may enroll in one course per session, for a maximum of two courses, and should consult their school counselor for individual course recommendations.
LEAD (Grades 1-8)

Week 1:
July 20 - 24

Week 2:
July 27 - 31

The mission of LEAD is to provide LBUSD students with opportunities to learn, enrich, advance, and discover by exploring new interests and passions. LEAD courses are available at no cost to families for students enrolled in LBUSD during the 2025–26 academic year who continue enrollment in 2026–27. Programs go beyond academics to include social-emotional wellness, physical fitness, the arts, technology, career preparedness, and other high-interest areas. Courses are designed and taught primarily by LBUSD staff, who bring their passions to life through creative and engaging instruction that makes learning both meaningful and fun. All LEAD classes will be held on the Thurston Middle School campus.
