Laguna Beach High School Boys’ Water Polo Wins Pacific Coast Conference Championship

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. – History has been made this fall athletic season for the Laguna Beach High School Boys’ Water Polo team by capturing the Pacific Coast Conference Championship. The team has remained undefeated thus far and advances to the season’s playoff rounds. The Breakers have qualified for the Open Division of the upcoming California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section-Ford Championship playoffs, which begin this week. It is the team’s first time qualifying for the Open Division since 2021 and only the 9th time in the school’s history.

The team's 24 wins are the most in a season in 62 years of LBHS Boys’ Water Polo. They also set a school-record 14-game win streak and hope to best that in the playoff rounds. The team is ranked #8 of 253 schools competing in CIF-SS boys’ water polo. Coach Cam Hauer stated, "We have a group of strong and determined young men, and this has been an integral part of our success. It has been a joy to see them come together for the betterment of each other and of the team."

The 2025 CIF Southern Section-Ford Championship playoffs begin for the LBHS Breakers on Wednesday, October 29, when they take on Newport Harbor High School at 5 p.m. at Newport Harbor HS. For more CIF-SS playoff schedule information and results, see the CIF-SS website.
